Look at the homegame schedule and see what's gonna work for you and let the group know.

Congratulations To Gary and Sara
In case you didn't know Dr. Sara is getting married this Fall.
His name is Gary and he's bald like me and Michael Jordan. So he's gotta be cool, right?
Finally, after a few years of living in James' garage, Ron's planner has returned to its rightful owner. The calendar in it said 2002. I hope you didn't miss anything.
At some point James will explain that dogs are organic and do not need to be cranked.

Duke Boys Update
Sorry it's been so long, everyone. Life in the Duke household is busy these days. Ethan turned 3 February 9th and Justin just turned 1 on March 12th. Both are doing well. Ethan is in preschool 2 days a week, which he loves. Justin is not walking yet, but it won't be long. He has taken his time doing pretty much everything so why would walking be any different! Justin is having some minor outpatient surgery next Wed. to have tubes put in his ears. He's had chronic ear infections since November. Hopefully this will make everything better for him. The wonderful thing is even with all the ear infections he's still a happy little fella most of the time.
I stay busy with the boys most days. My parents are both retired now and have moved just north of where we live so we see them quite a bit and they love to babysit. I have started working some....well, very little. I'm doing court reporting just two days a month. I don't even know if that qualifies for part-time. It helps to keep my skills and license up-to-date. Pete is still commuting downtown, which sucks, but he's my sugar-daddy so he has to bring home the big bucks.
We miss everyone and think of y'all often. We would love to see everyone sometime soon.

As if my last post wasn't long enough
OK OK, I know I got all long winded with the last one, but I was pondering something while I was driving around today listening to Machinehead. Although, they are not black, or Death metal, their lead singer is angry. I like Angry singers. One thing popped out of angrysinging was the extreme difference between Christian music and Death, Black Metal(music). The Christiens are always happy and lifting their heads up, singing praises, and telling you how great it will be when they go up to meet him. On the other hand when you listen to Black/ Death metal with the anti-christian theme; Some of the music is about other religions like Norse, egyptian, et al,), there is an angry lyricist screamin, and growling about how false christianity and all its followers are wrong, stupid, and generally weak. Its just funny, they are not singing praises to their chosen god. I guess they are afraid of falling out of favor of the real religion of money:0! Just my thought. Oh yeah, James have you heard of Polkadot Cadavre? I heard that if you have not, you can listen to Mr. Bungle. Til Next time. MEtal dreams!
Good things come to those who wait long enough
Thanks Marc for sparkin'n the flame to a new missive on our crazy lives. Noah will be celebrating his first Birthday this weekend. Anybody in town is more than welcome. Anybody who wants to come is more than welcome too. Just let us know. I got to buy dogs, burgs an beer. Amie's big sister,Jenny, will be having her little girl tomorrow. Those are the goings on in our little world.
Jennifer, if your mom has not already thrown my little black book out, its ok to do so. Thank her and you for holding on to it so long. Hope you guys are doing well.
Marc, how was LA? I saw that it causes you to strip and drink Malt Liquor, but we need more details.
PEte and Karen, Happy birthday to baby Justin! I'm sorry I don't know Ethan's birthday.
I haven't forgotten every body, but if I didn't mention you specifically, I recognize you in spirit(s). By an by, I have recently(months) been in contact with Eric(my old roomie) and Josh( My big alter ego from the Russian class) Both are doing well. Eric is working at Mercedes now, making major dollars, and Josh is considering getting a teaching degree down in FLA.
My one Blog posting, nonpersonal lands in the musical realm. I have not been keeping up with much music lately. I beleive that not alot of good music is coming out. Thats a narrow view I know, but if you have suggestions let me know. One thing in the last few bands I have been noticing, is that the new bands are young. I told you guys some time ago about Avenged sevenfold from Cali. Thse boys were only 17 at their oldest, but churning out some mean hard rock/metal. I was listening a few days ago to Sirius 27 HardAtak and heard a song, "Shockwave" from a band called Blacktide. The lead singer sounds like the lead singer from Tesla, and I was sure it was a band comprised of old rockers. Well, I went to Wikipedia and found that this was a group of 14 and 15 year old churning out their fist album, on March 11th. I was shocked, but looking forward to more form this band. Another band I like is Three inches of blood. This is one of Slipknots members side band. I'm not sure which of the dudes is in it, but it RAWKS! There are two vocalists, which is awesome. One of the guys sounds like Rob Halford from Judas Priest. The other guy growl;s with the best of them. The reason I have not reported on rap as of late, is because I believe that there has been a death in the family. There is no new, good stuff coming out. 5o cent sold out, KaNYE NEEDS TO COME OUT, and the game has been played. Dre is due to come out with a new project, but its been talked about for two years now. Eminem is due out soon, but nothing more to talk about. Snoop has a new one, but the last album wasn't worth handling. Again, if anybody has any suggestions, I am open. I thank you for your attention.

Wish we could be there...
Hey y'all,
Sorry we're going to miss everyone on the canoe trip again this year. We'll be leaving that Saturday for vacation in St. Augustine with Pete's family (parents, aunt, uncle, cousins) and my best friend and her family. I don't know how much of a vacation it will be for me with two kids, but at least it's at the beach. Once Pete starts drinking i think he forgets he has kids!! i hope we'll get to see everyone again sometime this year. It's been too long.

What's Shakin?
Hey Gang,
Haven't posted in a minute. I found my TV on the Cartoon Network when I got home, and when I sat down, before I turned the channel, I heard a familiar voice. It was the Voice of Andre 3000 from Outkast. He apparently has a cartoon titled Class of 3000. Go figure. I figured i would give all the parents and also the fans of Hip hop a reason to watch the Cartoon Network. Also be on the lookout for the new album by the other half of Outkast, Big Boi. It is partly produced by Andre 3000 too.
Wanted to say it was good to see James and Jennifer this last weekend. Noah was happy to fall asleep in Jen's arms. Amie thanks you for that. We look forward to see everyone around the 23rd for the canoe trip.
Did anybody hear from Michelle in April? Did she come to the ATL? I read that the lead singer of Boston recently past away and I wondered if she was still dating the guy who was their concierge.
Glad to see that Marc made it back from Africa. How 'bout a post with your tales. Any who... Hope everyone is well. We will look forward to hearing/seeing everyone soon.

Getting together
Pete and i have been talking about trying to get everyone (including kids) together maybe sometime this fall. Maybe we can all meet up somewhere for a weekend, not necessarily someone's house. If anyone has any ideas let us know. I know we would like to meet Ian and Noah before they go off to kindergarten!
Ethan & Justin
Finally, i have a chance to post some pics of the boys. Ethan really likes his little brother. He wants to pick him up all the time and kiss him and roll his Hot Wheels all over him! We haven't seen any jealously towards Justin yet. Ethan takes his jealousy out on Mama instead! We have quickly entered the terrible two's lately, but he's still a good boy! Justin is an angel. Thank God the second baby is an easy one or i might be crazy! I mean, come on...i already have to put up with Pete! That's enough to make anyone nuts, right?!!

Noah G In Tha House
Hey Everyone! He's finally here. Noah Grant Philpot Entered into the world at 4:50 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon. Amie was also induced early because of some potential "BIG" baby complications. Noah decided he didn't want to hurt his pretty little head in the birth canal; so he Hit some switches, caused Amie's stitches and was out via c-section for the world to receive him. He came out at 8 pounds, 2 ounces and 21 inches long. Amie and he are doing well. He is healthy and he is happy to be home. We are truly blessed to have this child in our life.

Baby Justin Arrives
Hi everyone,
Justin Lee Duke was born on Monday, March 12th at 2:08p.m. He was 7lbs. 13oz. and 21 inches long. I was actually induced a week early due to some complications i had with Ethan's birth. All went really well this time around and we came home on Tuesday. Justin and i are both doing great. Ethan has taken very well to the big brother role. He loves to give him kisses and tickle his feet. We have some pics but i haven't downloaded them to the computer yet. We've been busy trying to adjust to having a 2-year old and a newborn so i haven't had a chance. As soon as we do we'll send them out. Just wanted to let all know!

HELLO< HELLO,HELLO New Year! Welcome to it.
I just wanted to wish you alll the best. This last year has brought alot of really cool things into our lives as well as others. We are so blessed to have a baby on the way. he'll be here soon, and we look forward to sharing his entrance into this world with you.
Alot of you guys and gals had great things this last year. Marc, I'm glad to see that your part -time gig turned to bigger and better things. I've followed your progress on Flickr an d you are doing great things. Nancy is doing big things, Winning awards. You Go Girl! Lebee and jim livin Large in Texas. Hopefully in a year or so we can bring the baby to the up and coming swimmin hole. pete and Karen got their hands full with their up and coming bundle of joy, as well as little ethan runnin round.
All this pourin out stems from Nancy's blog entry and what she said about cherishing our outings. I too sometimes forget how cool it is to get together with people who know where you've been, and they still love ya. I know that the next few years do not have a lot of room for travel, but would love to have some gatherings happen in HuntsVegas. We have a new deck out back. New hardwood floors will be done before march, and Summer hits before we know it. Anywho, I just wanted to leave an entry. I miss Pete's Music trivia.
Welcome to 2007. I look forward to hearing about whats going on with everybody. TTYL, L8TR, Peace, Love, And Hair Grease

Memories of Paul
Hey everyone, I don't know if you will remember Paul. He had flaming red hair(reminiscent of carrot top), loved his blue tick heeler that ate all the Christmas lights off his tree and used to tell stories of when he used to follow the Grateful Dead. He and his wife, Barbie, travelled with us to Mardi Gras in New Orleans the one year that we got that van and stayed in Slidell (I think, you know Marc was driving.) I know Marc, Barbara, Karen, Pete, Don, Marc's cousin, James and Jennifer were all there. Anyway, Paul passed away today at the age of 33. He was kayaking on New Year's day, flipped over and got wedged between two boulders and his friends couldn't get him freed quick enough. Although they performed CPR, he did not survive. I am not posting this to depress anyone (Paul wouldn't want that) but rather to show just how much our fleeting outings have meant to me. Be safe and if you do remember Paul think kind thoughts for his wife Barbie and their son Rowan.

Hangin' out in H'ville
Congratulations to Karen/Pete and Amie/Ron on the soon to be announced boys. As for us, Bruce is back to work after his surgery but hoping to get a dayshift position soon. I am doing quite well at work. I was named technologist of the year for Huntsville Hospital and I won 1st and 2nd place in a baking competition the same week. Maybe if you're ever this way we could go out and celebrate. By the way, when is Steve coming home? Hope you are all well. N

What to do with all these boys!
We had our ultrasound today and found out we're also having a boy! We're very excited. I've always thought it would be fun to have two boys. Of course, check with me in a few years and i might be crazy from living with all these boys! I will definitely be outnumbered in this house. Thank goodness Casey's a girl...sort of. We have chosen a name already...Justin Lee Duke. All is well so far with the pregnancy and we're excited to meet Baby Justin in a few months!

Military Friends V. Civilian Friends
This has probably been around the world and back...but...I think it's accurate:
CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Tell you not to do something stupid when you're drunk.
MILITARY FRIENDS: Will post 360 security so you dont get caught.
CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Call your parents Mr. and Mrs.
MILITARY FRIENDS: Call your parents Drunk as hell and tell them about the fat chick you tried to pick up.
CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Cry with you.
MILITARY FRIENDS: Laugh at you and tell you to put some Vagasil on your pussy.
CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Borrow your stuff for a few days then give it back.
MILITARY FRIENDS: Borrow your stuff, then keep your stuff untill they PCS.
CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Know a few things about you.
MILITARY FRIENDS: Could write a book with direct quotes from you.
CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Will leave you behind if that's what the crowd is doing.
MILITARY FRIENDS: Will kick the whole crowd's ass that left you.
CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Would knock on your door.
MILITARY FRIENDS: Walk right in and say, "I'm home!"
CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Will take your drink away when they think you've had enough.
MILITARY FRIENDS: Will look at you stumbling all over the place and say, "Bitch, you better drink the rest of that shit.
CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Will say "I can't handle Tequila anymore".
MILITARY FRIENDS: Will say "Okay just one more." 2 minutes later "Okay just one more."
CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Will talk shit to the person who talks shit about you.
MILITARY FRIENDS: Will knock them the fuck out!!
CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Will tell you "They'd take a bullet for you."
MILITARY FRIENDS: Will actually TAKE a bullet for you.

Long Weekend Getaway?
Since we were not able to get away for a Bama game, would anyone be interested in making a trip to Helen for the weekend? It's only about an hour and a half from our house. Plus...there is absolutely nothing to do up there but hang out...and visit. They have 'cabins' (read...real nice 4-6 bedrooms) up there with hot tubs on the deck. Plus..some have a fire pit outside.
Any takers? The cooler it gets down our way...it'll be alot cooler up there.

Jim&I - Coming to Huntsville and Atlanta!
Hi gang!
I was looking through some of my old photos and found these two. (My photos are still hidden, in waterproof bags, after last year's hurricane evacuation. I am just now getting some of them back out.) The first, one of my favorite pictures of Kenny and me, was taken in '95 at a wedding luncheon for our friend Allison. The second was New Year's at Nancy's. Not sure of the year. The important question from this photo: Who exactly were the designated drivers? Hard to tell, huh? Maybe we just all stayed there until we were sober again.
Well, Jim and I will be in Huntsville October 22 - 26. [HSV gang - I think we're free Tuesday or Wednesday night. If you just want to see me, I'm available during the day on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. Sorry Jim!] Then, we're down to Albany, GA to visit Missy, Dan, and the girls that Friday. We'll be in Atlanta the weekend of Oct 28. Can anyone do lunch and/or dinner in Atlanta on Saturday, Oct 28.? (I think Sunday is full of stuff with his family, but I'll let you know if it turns out we're free.) We were thinking about this spot, at least for dinner: http://www.lethai.com/ It's an organic Thai restaurant in Tucker. (My new hobby is finding organic resturants when we travel. In an effort to make sure that I become the highest maintenance person I can, I've managed to figure out that I have several food sensitivities/allergies and that I do better when I don't eat food with pesticides. Kenny - I think I have Allison beaten now. Watching me order at a restaurant is a rare treat! "Does that have wheat or dairy? Can I have that on the side? Can I substitute ...?" Good thing that I'm so sweet ;) and a good tipper. I haven't managed to truly piss off a wait person yet!)
That weekend was supposed to be the Georgia Tech Hockey Alumni reunion game. We were going to invite everyone, especially Marc - last year's official unofficial photographer. However, the team forgot to book the ice, so now it's cancelled.
Hope to see you all soon!

Life with the Hortons
I know, I know --we are the worst bloggers ever. Sorry, but I just don't turn the computer on that much at home and we are not allowed to use the internet at work. They fire you and stuff from what I hear. Dang sick people want all the attention. Anywho, I was promoted a while ago and am now the clinical coordinator of the Angiography department. Just means I get to boss a few people around and more doctors can yell at me if something doesn't go their way. Haven't decided yet if it worth the extra 50cents or not. :) Bruce just had to have back surgery again for two more herniated discs. Tree stump 15---man with axe 0. He is doing well and can flex his right foot up again which Bruce has found comes in handy. We have become festival goers which I think can be directly linked to my love of kettle corn and Bruce's love of large weiners( I mean, bratwurst, hehe) The Kentucky bourbon festival was our last outing. Of course, I went for the pancakes with bourbon syrup and Bruce went for all the free stuff (especially, Bourbon samples). What was ever decided about the football game outing? I think we could make one of the games in November but which one is best for everyone? Sorry, Steve. What is your address, by the way? As for dinner in Atlanta on the 16th, Ronnie-----we live in the same town and you still haven't called me back about taking you out for your birthday, slacker. How are the babies mamas doing? Hope everyone is well. nancy
P.S.- I heard they are making Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears A Who into a movie. Think I could get a walk on role. Although, not directly genealogically related to the elephant named Horton, I think I should be under consideration
P.P.S.--Did you know that there is a town called Bruce, Mississippi? Also, that Bruce is having to stand in with the Hooters girls while Steve is away. And,that my dogs are training to be scrub techs. Like Toonces the driving cat but smarter. O.K. so I got bored one day. I, really, hope the pictures attach so you can see what I'm babbling on about.

VACATION
Hey Marc, Barb, Pete, Karen, Ethan and anyone else who will be in ATL on Monday October 16th. We are taking a vacation and our first stop is ATL. We wanted to meet up with anyone available for dinner on the 16th. I guess the best place would be somewhere north of ATL around Norcross, Duluth or Buford area. Does anyone have any ideas or is anyone available? It would be nice to get together since its been so long!

This link is the new Jimmy Buffett video for the song Bama Breeze. The song is loosely based on the Flora/Bama bar in Gulf Shores. I do believe some of us spent a little time there a few years ago. The video was actually filmed in Bay St. Louis and New Orleans and features a bar that was destroyed by Katrina. Apparently the Flora/Bama was damaged in Ivan a few years ago. Don't know if it's still there. Just thought it was pretty cool.

ALABAMA TAILGATE GET-TOGETHER EXTRAVAGANZA
Um...when do you guys want to do this?
Oct. 7 (Duke U.) and Oct. 14 (Ole Miss) both look like good weekends to get down to T-Town and tailgate on the quad.
Suggestions? Conflicts?

THREE GENERATIONS
Thanks to Pete and Karen for inviting us to FD's birthday party. It was really great to see everyone again.
You have a wonderful family and we're glad to be part of it.

I have to brag on Pete a little right now. i don't know if he told anyone that he's been working on finishing half of our basement to make an office for me and a playroom for Ethan. Anyway, he's finished everything and we moved stuff down there over the weekend. I wanted to post a couple pics to show his great work. i still have no idea how he knew how to do all this. He did it all himself including the sheetrock, floor, built me a desk, everything. The pic of the playroom was after Ethan made his way in there so it's a bit messy, but you get the idea. We're making room upstairs for baby number 2 so that kind of sparked all of this.

To Marc (who responded) and anyone else who is interested in coming, i know pete mentioned the surprise 60th party for his dad on the 26th (next Sat.). It starts at 6:00 and Darryl's supposed to arrive around 7:00. It's at Pete's parents' house which i know y'all have been to, but if you need directions, just let us know. There will be plenty of food and beer so please come. I know i'd love to see y'all! Ethan will be there too, partaking in the festivities and throwing back a few brewskies!

Hey everyone! I guess we have to echo Ron & Amie's good news with our own. We are expecting our second baby on March 20th. This baby will be right at 2 years younger than Ethan, which is what we were hoping for. All is well so far for me, just a little worn out, but chasing an 18-month old will do that to ya! We are very excited and just wanted to share our news with y'all!

Hey Everyone, Pimps wife here....
I wanted to let everyone know that the Pimp will have to retire. Yes, I know this is very, very sad news for all of you, but you see I don't think it is right for a 'dad-to-be' to also be a Pimp. I mean that just isn't morally acceptable. So, come March when we become proud parents, he will have to lay down that purple-feathered pimp hat once and for all. Seriously though, Ron and I are expecting and we wanted to share our wonderful news with everyone! I guess that trip to Key West really paid off. :)

Pete, you totally need to get one of these
I had the opportunity to shoot the coolest dog (and model of course) on Saturday. His name was DUTCH. Can you guess the breed?

Okay...it looks like we for sure won't be going to the following Auburn games so tickets are up for grabs: 9/23 versus Buffalo and 11/4 versus Arkansas State.
We also will be skipping one of three games in October either Arkansas, Florida or Tulane, but i don't for sure which one. We're still working out our schedule. Pete is supposed to be traveling to Palm Springs on business in Oct. and Ethan and i may go with him but nothing is for sure. I'll post which of those is available when i know for sure.
If anyone is interested in these tickets, let me know.

Pete and I have season tickets to the Auburn games this year and if anyone is interested in going to a game, we're willing to give up a game or two. Just let us know. I know, I know, most of you would rather go to Bama games so this is for those of us who have the good sense to be Auburn fans.
Oh, and i'm sure you're wondering how in the world i got Pete to agree to get Auburn season tickets. Well, he figured if we could get them this year, then we would probably be able to get them next year and go to the Alabama game. It's certainly not b/c he's an Auburn fan!

Anybody Read Prick?
I didn't think so. But just in case you needed something for the birdcage some of my pix will debut in Prick Tattoo magazine in August.
If you want to see more Calu (the hot chick w/ the 20 gauge) check out the photoset of commercial stuff on my Flickr page. I'm still uploading all of the pix and I don't know which one they're gonna use.
And no, I don't have any tattoos...other than that one of Rosie on my ass.
