i would like to try and find some nice aggressive songs that would fit well with shooting some video of either the camaro or the lincoln. my aunt and uncle live out in the middle of nowhere and there are a bunch of straights and twisties that would be cool to have a little fun. that said...i'd like something along the lines of...

click...click...boom - saliva
fuel - metallica
the game - disturbed

get the picture? post up some recommendations.

here's a link to my last venture out where they live...how to properly drive a lincoln ls...

http://webpages.charter.net/zerohz/cars/LincolnLS/Exhaust/Lincoln_LSE_Exhaust_Clip_Moving_Small.wmv
i will personally award a 1/5 of SoCo to the first person to name the restaurant where the following was overheard around 2:00 a.m. on any given...Thursday...Friday...Saturday...Sunday...Monday...Tue...ehh...you get the picture:

I'll have some cheese tots and some dayum fine tea.
Where should one go if they go to Key West?

Hey Barb, can you check around Atlanta for any Pirated versions of "nocniy Dozyor," or Night Watch. Its a Russian Vampire flick where the director sent the movie out and had it edited by almost open source. They released it in "selected" cities, which we of course are not. Also any of you Download Movies? If so what P2P program do you use? If you use BitTorrent, is htere still a way to get it for free. Ya'll's help is always appreciated.

Pete's music post of the week...
"I got so much trouble on my mind...
I refuse to lose...
here's your ticket...
hear the drummer get wicked..."
Ron's music post for the day. Drinkin about... Wait... Thinkin about ... Anyway.
Lyrics from cool song: See me Ride out of the Sunset, on your Color TV Screen.
Hey, where has all the Rock gone? Well since Guns and Hoses became Velvet Revolver, the rock scene for me has been rather bleek. However, thanks to breaks in between radio shows on Sirius I discovered a California band worth looking for. I think I have mentioned them before, but in case I haven't; Avenged Sevenfold. They have two records out and their most recent one is worthy. I have to admit I have not purchased said disc, but i am going to, because there is a ballad that makes November Rain freeze up. I won't see you Tonight. It is from their first album and it rocks, Skindread is another band to check out. They have a reggae metal thing going, and it works. Nuff Said.
Say you haven't had your Southern Fried Metal fix in awhile? Well, the Day after the Mexicans celebrate Mayo con cinco, The band Rebel Meets rebel comes out on May the 2nd. Who r they you ask? Well, they are the collabo between David allan Coe and the surviving guitarist from Pantera: Vinnie Paul. The first track, "Nothin to lose," takes you back to David Allan's heyday. Rock Guitars and Downtrodden Country stars are a force to be reckoned with.
Long Live Rock! Viva la Rock! We Rock!

Most people don't know that back in 1912, Hellmann's mayonnaise was
manufactured in England. In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000
jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico, which

was
to be the next port of call for the great ship after its stop in New
York.

This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise ever
delivered to Mexico. But as we know, the great ship did not make it
to New York. The ship hit an iceberg and sank, and the cargo was forever

lost.

The people of Mexico, who were crazy about mayonnaise, and were
eagerly awaiting its delivery, were disconsolate at the loss. Their
anguish
was so great, that they declared a National Day of Mourning, which they
still observe to this day.

The National Day of Mourning occurs each year on May 5th and is
known, of course, as Sinko de Mayo.

Does anybody have any Hoodoo Gurus on CD. I think I have cassette, but would like digital.
BTW: Pete, what is your FTP site address?

Speaking of Drinking too much, Hope everyone has a Happy Easter. Those with Kids, may they find all the good eggs, and for those without, be careful from where you pull those Huevos!

BTW; Check out the newest PE album! I don't have it yet, but the stuff I've heard is good. More info later. Fight The Power!

OK, so maybe it wasn't homicide.

Memphis police are now saying that Logan Young's death was an accident and not a grisly homicide. Weirdness.

Seeing as they found blood all over the house, I'd hope that they'd spend more than two days figuring the mystery out.

Pete's music post for the week...delving back into the college days...one of my favorite songs...it's a bit longer than I'll usually post because I think this song deserves it...the song isn't hard to get...

"...Now someone’s on the telephone...
...desperate in his pain...
...Someone’s on the bathroom floor doing her cocaine...
...Someone’s got his finger on the button in some room...
...No one can convince me we aren’t gluttons for our doom...
...But I tried to make this place my place...
...I asked for providence to smile upon me with his sweet face...
...Yeah but I’ll tell you...
...My place is of the sun and this place is of the dark...
...And I do not feel the romance I do not catch the spark...
...My place is of the sun and this place is of the dark...
...(by grace, my sight grows stronger)...
...And I do not feel the romance I will not be ...
...(and I will not be a pawn for the prince of darkness any longer)"
Logan Young Jr., the booster who got Bama put on probation a few years ago, was found dead on Tuesday.

Police are reporting it as a homicide but not how or why.

Interesting stories about the case: here and here.

Somebody said Grace Street apartments, and I came across another fine T-Town living establishment. You can't go wrong with a landlord named Dick!

Here's the original image i wanted to load two entries ago, but whatever. I'm sure some of you will remember this well. GOOD TIMES!

OK, Please disregard most of the first paragraph of my first post. The image i wanted was too big, and tonite I am too lazy to rescan it. Here is the steve photo I promised, however.

Okay, Hope everyone had a great weekend. I have been toying with ideas to create images that stir remembrance. This one here sparks the whole of my time at UA. Not so much all the memories, but reminds me where I was when this rag came out. What, from your memory, takes you back to when your concerns were passing that test, or which bar this weekend?
The image I chose is either too big, or the server overloaded, but i thought of another task which I would be happy to undertake. Comment, or send me a song, or collection of songs that take you back to when we lived for the weekend and the world was not as real as it is today. I am already thinking the theme song is R.E.M's the end of the world as we know it. BTW; It is in the new DVD: Chicken Little. You need to watch this to realize that big budget anime is being made for our generation.
Also, marc, loved the Photos. My next question came to mind after we had some old photos developed this weekend. Who has been photographed asleep/passed out more? Is it steve or me? If I can get steves photo to scan at low enough resolution, I will post it, and it will be first on the blog.

There's urban camouflage and then there's really urban camouflage. Commando X demonstrates the latter for us civilians.
Weekend birthday fun for Barbara included a visit from Nancy and Bruce. Here, Lexie and Bruce re-enact the alien bursting out of John Hurt scene from Alien for our amusement. She later skidaddled across the table.

Despite her failed attempts at cat burglary (she just ended up with a house full of cats), Nancy proves she's got mad safe crackin' skillz and easy street is as near as her local Wachovia.

Neat website that y'all might find interesting. I've looked through pretty much all of it and...it's neat. James...you might find it particularly interesting since it's similar to your thesis (at least if I remember it correctly).

Pete's music post for the week...a little hair band for the mousse and gel lover's in all of us:

"...Had a few beers, gettin' high ...
...Sittin', watchin' the time go by,
...Uh, huh
...It ain't no big thing
...Nothin' to eat and no TV
...Lookin' in the mirror don't get it for me
...Uh, huh
...It ain't no big thing..."
The Missing In Action Report:

Andy--He's back in the ATL, somebody give him a link.
James and Jen--Sent them an invite. Should be joining us shortly.
Sara--Does anyone have her non-work email?
Steve--Probably hasn't checked his mail this month. I will berate him in person.
Jeff--Still in Louisiana? What's the kid count?
Tracy--In the Air Force the last I heard. Would love to hear from her again.

Anybody else?
Ideas for quarterly gatherings:

Canoe trip--We've done this one a couple of times before to great success. Do they still make Sisco fortified wine? Good time to figure out if babies float as well.

Football trip--We really don't even have to get tickets. The tailgate scene is off the chain. We will need to pool a small amount of money for a tent and satellite dish connection. Me, James, Eric, and Daniel hung out last year and it was fun and not too debaucherous. OK, James couldn't find his face but I was fine. I swear.

Beer festival / Greek festival: There are a few of these sprinkled throughout the year in the SouthEast in Birmingham, ATL, or Huntsville. It's short notice but the Notoberfest is coming to ATL on Saturday May 13.

Recommendations, ideas, roadblocks?
Happy Birthday Barbara! Weird how Cliff Claven has made it into the blog twice so far. Are we secretly paying him as our sponsor?
BTW, there is a nice littl write up on Merle Haggard in this months Blender, letting you know what other Merle Haggard album to buy.
Hey, can somebody send me the pictures they have from my Bachelor party. I seem to have lost the CD. blyetu2@comcast.net

Today is Barbara's Birthday!

Also born on this date are: Cliff Claven (John Ratzenberger), Billy Dee Williams (Colt 45 works every damn time), Henry Kissinger (will he ever learn to speak English?), and country outlaw Merle Haggard.

May all of your dreams come true (except that thing about the Michael Hutchence clone because well, that's just plain weird).

BTW, If you're in the Atlanta area this weekend and want to do something with us on Saturday, let us know.

Anybody remember that experiment where Dr. Sara conjoined my head with hers for like an entire evening? I didn't really understand the science behind it but I did learn what it's like to have a brain for once.

Wassup!!!???? OK, Cheap intro, but appropriate coming from me. AND AMIE! Awesome I dea. I feel like one of those people who had an idea for an invention, but didn't patent it. Doh!
I know we said no work or the like, but for those who don't know, I switched from the Max to Staples. Nuff said. "That was EASY!" I should put a trademark, but anyway. Ramblin on like Led Zep as always. Those pics bring back memories and we look forward to making new memories in the very near future. Hey Tell Cliff to shut the H up and deliver the D mail! Good lookin out peeps. I do have a profile on myspace, but i haven't exploited it like i think i will here. Yahoo and myspace are rwps69. Horns in the air. Peace and Hair grease to you all.

I see my better half...or should i say my not-so-better half has already made an appearance on here. He forgot to add that he's also chatting with me online. You know he can't go a day without hearing from his favorite wife...yeah, right! Somehow i figured out how to upload a picture of Ethan. Now, who's supposed to be the computer whiz here? Anyway, here's Ethan, a.k.a. mini-Pete, at almost 14 months old. He is actually starting to resemble me a bit. Definitely has his dad's personality...already flirting with the ladies everywhere we go. I agree this is a great idea, Marc. Great way to keep in touch since we've all moved around and life keeps us busy.
What a great idea...just be prepared for my far-reaching grandiose editorials on random miscellaneous useless crap...but then again...what else would you expect from me...right?

Currently, I'm stuck in a hotel room in Orlando attending the National Postal Forum. Yeah, that's right...I'm down in the land of Mickey hanging out with Cliff Claven and about 4598 of his friends. Of course...to my left...a Miller Lite (me without a beer...yeah...right)...to my other left...a new portable DVD player watching Varsity Blues...hey...it was only $7.50. In the middle...typing this message.

As far as life updates...well...there's only one right now...and I'm having issues uploading pix of him. Is there some limit on the blog? Lemme guess...I didn't read the directions.

Daniel...I'm digging that picture of everyone...where was that taken?

Aiiigghhhttt kiddos...I'm outta here...I'll check in daily!

Some things have changed. Some things haven't. Last year on an expedition to Tuscaloosa I learned the following:

1. If there's a football game going on, not only are open containers OK, setting up a fully stocked temporary bar is encouraged.

2. There's no need to go to the game. If you look closely at the picture above you'll note that the girls are watching satellite TV on a flat panel in the middle of the Quad. Holy crap.

3. Need to make a beer run? No problem, there's a Publix on campus. Not kidding.

4. The tradition of theft and prank is still around. An inebriated undergrad stole the Alabama helmet from the set of ESPN's Game Day right in front of me and about 100 other people (including the idiots at ESPN). When the police showed up 5 minutes later, a co-ed was heard to say to the officer, beer in hand mind you, "I don't know him, I don't date him no more."

5. The girls have somehow gotten younger. They appear to have been born about the time we were starting high school. We are 5 years away from becoming our parents. Posted by Picasa
