HELLO< HELLO,HELLO New Year! Welcome to it.
I just wanted to wish you alll the best. This last year has brought alot of really cool things into our lives as well as others. We are so blessed to have a baby on the way. he'll be here soon, and we look forward to sharing his entrance into this world with you.
Alot of you guys and gals had great things this last year. Marc, I'm glad to see that your part -time gig turned to bigger and better things. I've followed your progress on Flickr an d you are doing great things. Nancy is doing big things, Winning awards. You Go Girl! Lebee and jim livin Large in Texas. Hopefully in a year or so we can bring the baby to the up and coming swimmin hole. pete and Karen got their hands full with their up and coming bundle of joy, as well as little ethan runnin round.
All this pourin out stems from Nancy's blog entry and what she said about cherishing our outings. I too sometimes forget how cool it is to get together with people who know where you've been, and they still love ya. I know that the next few years do not have a lot of room for travel, but would love to have some gatherings happen in HuntsVegas. We have a new deck out back. New hardwood floors will be done before march, and Summer hits before we know it. Anywho, I just wanted to leave an entry. I miss Pete's Music trivia.
Welcome to 2007. I look forward to hearing about whats going on with everybody. TTYL, L8TR, Peace, Love, And Hair Grease

Memories of Paul
Hey everyone, I don't know if you will remember Paul. He had flaming red hair(reminiscent of carrot top), loved his blue tick heeler that ate all the Christmas lights off his tree and used to tell stories of when he used to follow the Grateful Dead. He and his wife, Barbie, travelled with us to Mardi Gras in New Orleans the one year that we got that van and stayed in Slidell (I think, you know Marc was driving.) I know Marc, Barbara, Karen, Pete, Don, Marc's cousin, James and Jennifer were all there. Anyway, Paul passed away today at the age of 33. He was kayaking on New Year's day, flipped over and got wedged between two boulders and his friends couldn't get him freed quick enough. Although they performed CPR, he did not survive. I am not posting this to depress anyone (Paul wouldn't want that) but rather to show just how much our fleeting outings have meant to me. Be safe and if you do remember Paul think kind thoughts for his wife Barbie and their son Rowan.

Hangin' out in H'ville
Congratulations to Karen/Pete and Amie/Ron on the soon to be announced boys. As for us, Bruce is back to work after his surgery but hoping to get a dayshift position soon. I am doing quite well at work. I was named technologist of the year for Huntsville Hospital and I won 1st and 2nd place in a baking competition the same week. Maybe if you're ever this way we could go out and celebrate. By the way, when is Steve coming home? Hope you are all well. N

What to do with all these boys!
We had our ultrasound today and found out we're also having a boy! We're very excited. I've always thought it would be fun to have two boys. Of course, check with me in a few years and i might be crazy from living with all these boys! I will definitely be outnumbered in this house. Thank goodness Casey's a girl...sort of. We have chosen a name already...Justin Lee Duke. All is well so far with the pregnancy and we're excited to meet Baby Justin in a few months!

Baby News
We had the ultrasound today and found out we are having a BOY!!!!!
I guess we didn't want to break the trend that James, Jennifer, Pete and Karen started.
I wonder if they make baby pimp outfits??
Just wanted to share our news, we hope everyone is doing well!

Military Friends V. Civilian Friends
This has probably been around the world and back...but...I think it's accurate:
CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Tell you not to do something stupid when you're drunk.
MILITARY FRIENDS: Will post 360 security so you dont get caught.
CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Call your parents Mr. and Mrs.
MILITARY FRIENDS: Call your parents Drunk as hell and tell them about the fat chick you tried to pick up.
CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Cry with you.
MILITARY FRIENDS: Laugh at you and tell you to put some Vagasil on your pussy.
CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Borrow your stuff for a few days then give it back.
MILITARY FRIENDS: Borrow your stuff, then keep your stuff untill they PCS.
CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Know a few things about you.
MILITARY FRIENDS: Could write a book with direct quotes from you.
CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Will leave you behind if that's what the crowd is doing.
MILITARY FRIENDS: Will kick the whole crowd's ass that left you.
CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Would knock on your door.
MILITARY FRIENDS: Walk right in and say, "I'm home!"
CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Will take your drink away when they think you've had enough.
MILITARY FRIENDS: Will look at you stumbling all over the place and say, "Bitch, you better drink the rest of that shit.
CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Will say "I can't handle Tequila anymore".
MILITARY FRIENDS: Will say "Okay just one more." 2 minutes later "Okay just one more."
CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Will talk shit to the person who talks shit about you.
MILITARY FRIENDS: Will knock them the fuck out!!
CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Will tell you "They'd take a bullet for you."
MILITARY FRIENDS: Will actually TAKE a bullet for you.

Long Weekend Getaway?
Since we were not able to get away for a Bama game, would anyone be interested in making a trip to Helen for the weekend? It's only about an hour and a half from our house. Plus...there is absolutely nothing to do up there but hang out...and visit. They have 'cabins' (read...real nice 4-6 bedrooms) up there with hot tubs on the deck. Plus..some have a fire pit outside.
Any takers? The cooler it gets down our way...it'll be alot cooler up there.

Jim&I - Coming to Huntsville and Atlanta!

Hi gang!
I was looking through some of my old photos and found these two. (My photos are still hidden, in waterproof bags, after last year's hurricane evacuation. I am just now getting some of them back out.) The first, one of my favorite pictures of Kenny and me, was taken in '95 at a wedding luncheon for our friend Allison. The second was New Year's at Nancy's. Not sure of the year. The important question from this photo: Who exactly were the designated drivers? Hard to tell, huh? Maybe we just all stayed there until we were sober again.
Well, Jim and I will be in Huntsville October 22 - 26. [HSV gang - I think we're free Tuesday or Wednesday night. If you just want to see me, I'm available during the day on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. Sorry Jim!] Then, we're down to Albany, GA to visit Missy, Dan, and the girls that Friday. We'll be in Atlanta the weekend of Oct 28. Can anyone do lunch and/or dinner in Atlanta on Saturday, Oct 28.? (I think Sunday is full of stuff with his family, but I'll let you know if it turns out we're free.) We were thinking about this spot, at least for dinner: http://www.lethai.com/ It's an organic Thai restaurant in Tucker. (My new hobby is finding organic resturants when we travel. In an effort to make sure that I become the highest maintenance person I can, I've managed to figure out that I have several food sensitivities/allergies and that I do better when I don't eat food with pesticides. Kenny - I think I have Allison beaten now. Watching me order at a restaurant is a rare treat! "Does that have wheat or dairy? Can I have that on the side? Can I substitute ...?" Good thing that I'm so sweet ;) and a good tipper. I haven't managed to truly piss off a wait person yet!)
That weekend was supposed to be the Georgia Tech Hockey Alumni reunion game. We were going to invite everyone, especially Marc - last year's official unofficial photographer. However, the team forgot to book the ice, so now it's cancelled.
Hope to see you all soon!

Life with the Hortons
I know, I know --we are the worst bloggers ever. Sorry, but I just don't turn the computer on that much at home and we are not allowed to use the internet at work. They fire you and stuff from what I hear. Dang sick people want all the attention. Anywho, I was promoted a while ago and am now the clinical coordinator of the Angiography department. Just means I get to boss a few people around and more doctors can yell at me if something doesn't go their way. Haven't decided yet if it worth the extra 50cents or not. :) Bruce just had to have back surgery again for two more herniated discs. Tree stump 15---man with axe 0. He is doing well and can flex his right foot up again which Bruce has found comes in handy. We have become festival goers which I think can be directly linked to my love of kettle corn and Bruce's love of large weiners( I mean, bratwurst, hehe) The Kentucky bourbon festival was our last outing. Of course, I went for the pancakes with bourbon syrup and Bruce went for all the free stuff (especially, Bourbon samples). What was ever decided about the football game outing? I think we could make one of the games in November but which one is best for everyone? Sorry, Steve. What is your address, by the way? As for dinner in Atlanta on the 16th, Ronnie-----we live in the same town and you still haven't called me back about taking you out for your birthday, slacker. How are the babies mamas doing? Hope everyone is well. nancy
P.S.- I heard they are making Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears A Who into a movie. Think I could get a walk on role. Although, not directly genealogically related to the elephant named Horton, I think I should be under consideration
P.P.S.--Did you know that there is a town called Bruce, Mississippi? Also, that Bruce is having to stand in with the Hooters girls while Steve is away. And,that my dogs are training to be scrub techs. Like Toonces the driving cat but smarter. O.K. so I got bored one day. I, really, hope the pictures attach so you can see what I'm babbling on about.
